What Can You Expect at Your First Visit?
Your first visit at our Myrtle Beach dental office consists of a comprehensive dental and periodontal examination, oral cancer examination, and a head and neck cancer screening.
We take the time to gather your information and talk with you about your dental and medical history so that we know where you have been, where you would like to go, and how you would like to get there. While we believe it is our responsibility to inform you of our findings, answer your questions, and provide you with information and written treatment options — it is your right to decide what works best for you. Dr. Maser and our team are kind and empathetic and will help you with this process without being pushy.
After this initial appointment, we gladly welcome you to come back at no charge to discuss treatment options.
During your second appointment, we closely go over X-rays and intraoral photos to explain why treatment is necessary and alternative treatments (if applicable) to get your smile where you want it to be. We also have educational videos to demonstrate a variety of procedures, so you can make an informed decision about your care.
What is Metal Free Dentistry?
We choose to use only the best performing materials for the restorations we make for our patients. While amalgam metal restorations are still commonly placed in most dental offices, we have chosen to go metal-free and use only bonded resin or porcelain materials when we remove decay or replace old fillings. Almost all of our veneers, crowns, and bridges are also metal-free and custom. The result is greater quality control, personalization and better, long-lasting results for our patients.
What Technology do You Utilize?
We offer digital radiographs, a technological advancement that results in less exposure to radiation for our patients and an almost instantaneous picture for Dr. Maser. We do laser treatments so you will experience a more comfortable visit, as well as quicker treatment. Lasers produce a concentrated beam of light that can effectively remove tooth decay, reshape gum tissue, and help reduce the risk of infection. Because they cause less pain and bleeding than traditional tools, dental lasers are often preferred by patients.
Do You Often Give Referrals?
While we strive to offer comprehensive dental care under one roof, there are certain circumstances when you may be given a referral for care at another specialist. This is usually the care for oral surgery for impacted wisdom teeth and for root canals of teeth with calcified roots or for molars.
Do You Accept Dental Insurance?
While we are out of network with all insurance companies, we do file insurance as a courtesy. Fillings, porcelain crowns, porcelain fixed bridges, X-rays, cleanings, periodontal scaling, and extractions are among the many services covered by insurance. We recommend CareCredit as an alternative if you wish to finance your dental work.
